'Tis the Season

THIS is my most favorite time of year. Why you ask?? Because you get to dress up (and act like a complete goober), stuff your face (and be thankful), and open fun presents! (and celebrate the birth of Christ of course). It is just awesome. Have you noticed that this time of year even has a different smell outside?? Because it does!! I love the smell of fall/winter (these seasons are the same in AZ). Also there are lots of fun things to do outside because its not so bloody hot anymore!! so here are some fun things I've been up to this semester...

I went to the state fair with my best friend, whale mate, and sister, Keri. Behind us... the exact stage we used to dance and perform every year. The last time we danced here was 7 years ago. Tender moments walking by that stage...

Bowling night with my Jana and Jeremiah!! Always fun. Bowling and fun people. Doesn't get any better than that.

Christiaan and I had the best costumes EVER this year! He was riding a horse and I was riding and ostrich. We went trick-or-treating at one house... Nana Sue's. And Keri, Craig, and Kaitlyn came over to eat chili and corn bread and to play games!! So fun!

Went to San Tan Flats with the funnest people in town. Can you tell we're best friends?? Cause we are :)

My dance recital was successful even though I was sick through the whole thing. The hard work paid off for suuuure..

And lastly, a bit of good news.. I am 3/4 finished with my associates degree in fine arts/dance!! YESSSSS!!!! that is all!

So Long Sweet Summer...

This post is about my summer. Long story short, I was in California with family and friends for most of it, and it was AWESOME. Just a warning... this post is lengthy so I tried to keep it short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!

This is me and my sweet family after doing baptisms in the Sacramento Temple.

We finally got to see my Grandma and Grandpa on their mission and what they do and where they are working. They are so fun!

I stole my Grandpa Pete's shoes to wear outside, I modeled his sneakers and he pointed his toe. Just proof of how fun he is. I love him dearly, even when he teases me.

We went to the Sequioa National Forest and saw some B.A.T.'s. Big A Trees. This happens to be the largest one in the world. Erika and I modeled it "The Price is Right" style.

We drove through a tree too. That doesn't happen everyday.

We journeyed on to San Francisco where we saw Geeardello's square, as my Grandpa calls it.(Ghirardelli Square) and drove under the Golden Gate Bridge! This is us doing the classic leg pop. So great.

Oh and we just HAD to stop at Boudin Bistro for lunch. It is the best sourdough you can get ANYWHERE. And they make it in fun sea creature shapes for display :)

After seeing my grandparents in Sacramento, we drove through Stockton which is Elder Tyler Pete's mission but was not able to see him... darn it. But I know he was hard at work. We then came here to San Simeon to see Hearst Castle! (I was so happy about this because this was definitely something on my bucketlist!) Here we are in front of the Neptune pool.

We took strolls down the San Simeon beach right by our hotel. It was perfection!! (aren't we cute!!?? we think so)

After California with my family, we went camping at Big Lake, Arizona. I am convinced it's the most beautiful place on Earth. This is a picture of sisterly lovin' in the wilderness.

OH LOOK! I'm in California again!

We had fun at the beach in Huntington and Laguna!!

We had some adventures in LA and ended up having dinner at this awesome restaurant. Two words.. mechanical bull.

I also experienced sweet potatoe fries in an oh so delicious marshmellow dipping sauce. YEAH.

We also saw some funny things. Viva SB1070!

I had my very first beach bon fire with Hannah's sister, Aimee, and her family. Which, by the way, she let us stay in her home, she fed us the most amazing food all week, and introduced me to my new favorite card game.

And to top it all off, we saw the weinermobile on the way home. WHAT A SUCCESSFUL TRIP!!

Now, I am back to school and although I am working all the time and dancing my butt off... I love it. But I will admit that I listened to "So Long Sweet Summer" by Dashboard and cried a little before school started. But now I am teaching and dancing again, I feel alot happier. It is my antidepressant :) So bring it on sophomore year!!

10 Things I Want

1. Let's start off with shoes shall we. I want these really bad. But I'm waiting 'til they go on sale. And when they do go on sale... their mine. I am a bargain shopper.

2. Now, some of you may find this disgusting but its reality. I am NOT one of those people who doesn't groom and tend to their feet, but as a dancer (especially jazz /contemporary) I dont wear shoes when I dance. This causes dry feet that crack at times. I have a feeling this might help. Some people think products like these "as seen on TV" are bogus.. but I really want to try it and see if it cures my "dancer's feet".

3. A nectarine from California. They are my favorite thing to eat. I had one from the farmer's market in Sacramento, and then I had one from the WalMart by my house... doesn't even compare.

4. To go to New York. I've never been there in my life and I want to go there to take dance classes.

5. For Keri to come home. I miss her, and I have found out that I am happier when she is around.

6. More shoes. I want to be able to pull these off. Sadly, I can't. Believe me, I've tried them, on many occasions, I look like a freak. But I can still wish it right?

7. To go on a mission one day.

8. To go skydiving one day and not chicken out. I have a feeling I would, but I'd make someone push me.

9. To be able to do this. Yes, I secretly want to be a break dancer... don't judge.

10. To get married in this temple someday.

Thats all :)

Hello from California!!

YOOO!! I am in California with the fam right now! It has been so great. We've been to Huntington and Laguna beach, the Newport temple, many delicious restaurants, and more. My family is so entertaining. If you know them, you know what I'm talking about (Nana included). This trip would not be half as fun without my Nana Sue. She just had her 70th birthday and looks nowhere near that age. She is BEAUTIFUL! And funny. She doesn't know this, but she really is. Nana has a slight twang in her voice so we have fun imitating her when she says "and we just took off like scalded rats!" or "chow down kids" or my personal favorite, "hell, I don't know!" But the best is when she dances in our hotel room to the songs on the commericals. Let me put it this way... she is a riot! Not only is she my nana, but she's my friends' nana too. And thats the truth. She is one of the people that I look up to the most, because she is such a great influence and example. I love you Nana. Here's a picture of us girls at the temple!! Families are forever.
...and now we are off to Sacramento!
ps- I want to thank all the people who actually read and say you are awesome for reading this blog that probably isn't THAT interesting. But hey, I have fun doing it. So if you enjoy it, you rock.

HEY COOL KIDS!! so here's the deal-io, I have been doing nothing with my life since dance ended for the rest of summer and I've been dying. Yes dying. Longest two weeks of my life. But, guessss whaaaat!??? I am going on vacation for the next month. HOLLA!!! Don't be too jealous. But you can be a little jealous. I'm going to the beach in Newport with the fam and then up to Sacramento to see my grandparents on their mission! (and hopefully the wonderful Elder Tyler Pete Arnett as well). Then I get to go to Big Lake for a family reunion which by the way is one of my most favorite places on this earth. After that, I'm going to Huntington with my girls Carolyn and Hannah. TT!!!! This next four weeks is going to be the bomb.com. Thats all. MUAHHH!!!!
Love,
me.

Bad Blogger.

WAZZZZZZUUUPPPPPP. So yes I know I haven't updated in a while. But, I'm really okay with it. That just means I am busy doing more fun things then documenting my life on the internet. Cynical? Nahhh...So summer has been great, other than the fact that I get up at six every morning for ballet. However, the technique training is really helping me, so I shouldn't complain. I have two great jobs that also keep me busy. Which is good, I need the moola. So I am going to shut up now and share some pictures of things I've been doing. Word.

shout out to tyler pete

So this is my friend Tyler Pete Arnett. He is one of my best friends and he is leaving on his mission in a couple days. And fact of the matter I am going to miss his guts. Really, I think I might cry when I have to say goodbye to this guy. Even though he would steal toys from me and push me down in nursery when we were kids, I still have the deepest respect for him. He is the most honest, trustworthy, honorable, and steadfast person I know. He also happens to be HILARIOUS and the most fun person I've had the pleasure of hanging out with. (We give him the credit for our music videos being so funny). I'm so excited for him to go on a mission because not only will he be a fabulous missionary, but he gets to meet my grandparents!! Yep, thats right! He is going to Sacramento, California. And that's where my grandparents are serving. It's going to be great. And I'm hoping that when I go to visit them I may just "happen" to bump into him and shake his hand. If you haven't had the chance to meet Tyler Pete. You should. But you'll have to wait for two years.:)
